PAID Graduate Fellowship Program.
What´s it all about and whose it for?
Backed by the European Social Fund Equal Program, Skillset has partnered with the UK Film Council to deliver the Graduate Fellowship Program.
The aim of the Graduate Fellowship Program is to provide graduates from ethnic minority communities with the opportunity to engage in fully funded work placements for up to one year in film companies that represent different aspects of the film business.
The Graduate Fellowship Program is delivered under clause 37 of the Race Relations Act which allows training organisations to run programmes for people from black and ethnic origin groups which have been demonstrated to be under represented in a particular industry. Research conducted by Skillset has found that 7% of the workforce of London´s audio visual industries is from black and ethnic minorities, compared to 35% of the overall population of inner London.
The Graduate Fellowship Program is designed to address this imbalance by recruiting Fellows from marginalised groups
The Graduate Fellowship Program was launched in February 2006. We are not accepting applications at present but do hope to run the program again. Our next call for applications will be late Spring 2007.
This is a great website which posts work experience placements weekly in the creative industries. It also posts adverts for part-time and full-time jobs. http://www.arts.ac.uk/student/careers/1754.htm
